Abstract

The trial of Jesus of Nazareth constitutes one of the most emblematic and historically significant legal proceedings. Conducted under Roman authority and subject to substantial religious influence, the process was marked by serious procedural irregularities and violations of fundamental legal principles that are now enshrined in international human rights law. Drawing upon the legal reasoning of Ignacio Burgoa Orihuela, this essay offers a critical analysis of the trial from a contemporary human rights perspective, aiming to identify the procedural omissions and miscarriages of justice that defined this landmark event in legal history.
